A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, APPROVING
SMALL WORKS CONTRACT NO. C034-17 WITH BJC GROUP, INC. FOR THE (2017)
720 PROSPECT STREET REMODEL PROJECT & DOCUMENTING THE SMALL
PUBLIC WORKS ROSTER PROCUREMENT PROCEDURES
WHEREAS, and as performed annually since 2013, on January 2, 2017, the Municipal
Research and Services Center (MRSC) advertised on behalf of participating local government
agencies within Washington State (including the City of Port Orchard), for the 2017 MRSC Small
Works Roster; and
WHEREAS, on April 5, 2017, pursuant to RCW 39.04.155, the City of Port Orchard's
Public Works Department established a list of qualified contractors from the 2017 Small Works
Roster (see Resolution Exhibit A attached) for the Main-Category; Facility Construction, Repair
and Maintenance and Sub-Category ADA Service/Repairs/Remodels, Carpentry - Finish,
Carpentry - Interior and Carpentry - Rough; and
WHEREAS, by the April 18, 2017 noon deadline, the City's Public Works Department
received one (1) Bid, whereby BJC Group, Inc. provided the lowest qualified Proposal for the
(2017) 720 Prospect Street Remodel Project; and
WHEREAS, on April 19, 2017, the City's Public Works Department completed the MRSC
Mandatory Bidder Responsibility Checklist and confirmed that BJC Group, Inc. has a valid City
Business License; and
WHEREAS, the Port Orchard City Council, at the 2015 recommendation of the State
Auditor's Office, wishes to document their consultant selection process as described above for
this particular contract by Resolution; now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES
AS FOLLOWS:
THAT: The City Council approves Contract No. C034-17 with BJC Group, Inc. for the
(2017) 720 Prospect Street Remodel Project and adopts the "Whereas" statements contained
herein, as findings in support of the City's selection procurement procedures.

attested by the City Clerk in authentication of such passage on this 25th day of April, 2017.
