A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON,
APPROVING A CONTRACT WITH SEITEL SYSTEMS LLC FOR PERSONAL
SERVICES IN CONNECTION WITH THE "PAR" POST -ASSESSMENT
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ROADMAP
WHEREAS, the City previously solicited the interest of qualified professionals to provide a
technical review and report of the City's current information technology (IT) infrastructure, provide
upgrade recommendations, and provide an overview of recommended paths forward as the City looked
to the future, resulting in Seitel Systems LLC conducting an overall performance review of the IT systems
and identifying technological limitations which were reported to the City in a December 2015 Network
Assessment report; and
WHEREAS, the City considered implementing recommendations and upgrades using existing
staff weighing in-house expertise, time availability, and project timeline the outcome a decision to hire a
consultant providing oversight, server/software/wireless configuration, email server and cloud
migration, and assistance defining and formalizing information technology policies and practices for
better oversight and long-term management of the City's technology assets; and
WHEREAS, Seitel Systems LLC was hired in 2015 to provide a Network Assessment by a process
similar to that in RCW 39.04.27 and Seitel's work under that contract was very satisfactory and Seitel is
very familiar with the City's hardware, software, and operational needs, as well as a familiarity with
Kitsap County Information Technology that provides network connection; and
WHEREAS, Seitel Systems LLC will provide services allowing for project completion by December
31, 2016, now, therefore;
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS
FOLLOWS:
THAT: The City Council of the City of Port Orchard hereby approves a contract for Post -
Assessment IT Roadmap to help guide the City's technology upgrade project.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, SIGNED by the Mayor and attested by
the City Clerk in authentication of such passage on this 10th day of May, 2016.
