Festival of Chimes and Lights Committee Minutes
November 16, 2015; 3:30 p.m. at City Hall
Members present: Chair Lucarelli and City staff Brandy Rinearson. Guests present: Helen Jensen,
Fathoms O’ Fun; Sheila Cline, Jingle Bell Run; Kathy Garcia, Port of Bremerton; Bobbie Stewart; POBSA;
and Sharon Allen, Port Orchard Independent (POI).
CHIMES AND LIGHTS MEETING:
Theme- “A Dickens of A Christmas”
Tree Lighter- Al Mahaney
Sound System-Gordon Sound-Approved
Public Event Application-Approved
Advertising-Confirmed.
Organizations/contributions for 2015 C&L Festival:
Arthritis Foundation-Jingle Bell Run-Everything confirmed.
POBSA – Window decorating contest and voting will be done online through POI.
Fathoms O' Fun - Fire pits, Candy Canes, Sleigh, Hay, & Santa Photos- Confirmed, but will need some
volunteers with Al, not being able to do as much as previous years. Confirmed Royalty will assist where
they can. Also, Helene will check to see if the Sea Scouts and Miss West Sound title holders can help too.
Port Orchard Chamber of Commerce - Pooch N' Purr Parade-is confirmed. Need to coordinate on getting
the winners for announcement prior to tree lighting. Chair will work with Matt.
Port Orchard Library – Confirmed
The Sidney Museum –Will have open house and treats.
Kitsap Bank- Popcorn and Cider-Has confirmed their participation.
Port Orchard Independent-Ads placed and brochures printing, which should be delivered soon. They will
deliver posters to business if the City prints them.
The Dance Gallery –There will be two performances and will provide treats.
Port of Bremerton Port Orchard Marina- They are preparing flyer for the event. Once done they will give
to POI for promoting.
Sinclair Inlet Yacht Club – They are on board and advertising their event. It was confirmed they will collect
and share zip codes from the votes and share with the City.
Olympic Peninsula Antique Tractor Club – On board.
Saints Car Club – will be providing refreshments in Kitsap Bank parking lot.
Church Groups:
Knights of Pythias-Hot Coco, Tea, and Coffee-Confirmed
Heritage Foursquare-Chili-Confirmed
Calvary Church- Hot Coco, Tea, and Coffee-Confirmed
School & Church Music Groups:

EPO Elementary School-Confirmed; will go last.
Marcus Whitman-Confirmed
Kitsap Community Choral-Confirmed; will be in the middle.
Dragonfly Movie Theater –Confirmed; same times as last year and will be featuring the movie Elf.
Port Orchard Public Market-Working on activities for that day.
Pick out Christmas tree, setup, and take down- Confirmed.
Put up City garland, wreaths, and lights – Confirmed- decorating the week before Thanksgiving. Staff will
check on inventory of lights for decorating City Hall. And will reach out to Wave to assist with hanging the
garland.
City Hall:
Budget review and update- Within budget, no new expenses.
Deadline for Distribution of brochure:
South Kitsap School District – No new update.
Kitsap Bank-Included event on statements.
City utility bills-Brochure sent in statements.
A&W-No new update.
Event Application deadline- N/A
LTAC Application deadline –No new update.
Chair Lucarelli said the committee should meet in January to do a “wrap up” meeting. The committee
agreed the next date would be January 25th.
There being no further business, Chair Lucarelli adjourned the meeting at 4:07 p.m.
