Guests present: Bobbie Stewart; POBSA, Kathleen Wilson; Port Orchard Library, Terry Bontrager; Saints Car Club Holiday Lighting Kathleen Wilson noted Dave Jeffcoat with Kitsap Bank wants to revisit the possibility of using the downtown posts for lights rather than attaching them to the buildings. The Committee briefly discussed the height needed, the conditions of the posts, hanging lights across the street, public works budget and timeframe for hanging lights, tree, and street decorations. They also talked about decorations for other events during the spring and summer. Chair Lucarelli said we will not be hanging garland across the street. She also confirmed that we have a commitment from the Port Orchard Bay Street Association (POBSA) for $5,000 for lights. Additional Topics: Tree: The Committee briefly discussed the process of choosing and delivering this year’s tree. Puget Sound Energy Bills: City staff Floyd noted at the last meeting it was brought up to find out the City’s cost for the holiday lighting, and to review the Puget Sound Energy bills. Unfortunately there is not a easy way to calculate the charge from the bills as the bills are Citywide, and not just the downtown area. Councilmember Donlin said if he could receive some information on the lights including length and wattage, he might be able to calculate the price. There being no further business, Chair Lucarelli adjourned the meeting at 4:10 p.m. Future Meetings: April 17, 2017, 3:30 p.m. at City Hall.
