Guests present: Bobbie Stewart and Dave Jeffcoat; POBSA, Kathleen Wilson; Port Orchard Library. Holiday Lighting Clerk Rinearson shared with the committee a map outlining the layout of the lights. They were asked which option they preferred. A) Hang diagonal and not include mounting to the small utility pole or B) Hang diagonal and include mounting on the small utility pole. After a brief discussion, the committee prefers option B; with the understanding that permission will be needed by the pole owner. Kathleen Wilson and Dave Jeffcoat noted that the intent is for private partners to purchase the lights and materials, then donate them to the City for installation and to maintain. Chair Lucarelli asks the topic of the lights be added to the April 25, 2017, Council agenda as a presentation. Chair Lucarelli ask to hold off on any purchases of holiday decorations until the lights are up and we see what is left in the budget. Chair, Mr. Jeffcoat, and Ms. Wilson will schedule a meeting with Public Works to go over the logistics of the installation one more time. Staff will follow up on trying to identify the owner of the small utility pole on Bay Street in front of Rings N Things, ask Public Works for a schedule of when they can install the lights, and review Chimes and Lights biennial budget for public works staff time. Miscellaneous The committee discussed the theme for this year’s Chimes and Lights Festival. It was decided to be “Here comes Santa Clause”. Next meeting will include a discussion of the Christmas tree. There being no further business, Chair Lucarelli adjourned the meeting at 4:07 p.m. Future Meetings: May 15, 2017, 3:30 p.m. at City Hall.
