Guests present: Bobbie Stewart, POBSA and Terry Bontrager; Saints Car Club. Holiday Lighting Chair Lucarelli shared with the committee that the Holiday Lighting topic is going to be discussed at the next Work Study. Summarized the current situation is that the poles of the marquee need to be replaced. The lights may be able to work with the utility poles that Council is looking into replacing. Although these are separate projects, currently working alongside one another, eventually they may benefit the new holiday lighting plan. The lighting isn’t just for The Festival of Chimes and Lights, they will also be hung throughout the year. The previous light map that was provided by the City Electrician, Mike Deline, will need to be altered slightly because the marquee poles can’t be used. The pole replacement doesn’t appear to be able to happen soon, because it currently isn’t in the budget. More information to be provided after the next Work Study. Possible alteration, with the current situation, would be to access the utility poles at The Candy Shoppe and bike shop to meet the 20 feet minimum. Discussion at the Utilities Committee was that there would be an electricity source on both sides of the street with the new street light installation, by PSE. Bobbie Stewart stated that the icicle lights would still be hung, if the new holiday lighting plan isn’t completed in time for the festival. Chair Lucarelli discussed that when purchasing the new lights considerations of location on the Bay Street Banner, flower baskets, and irrigation would be kept in mind. Christmas Tree Acquisition/Logistics Terry Bontrager stated that there are a couple possible tree choices and they have been marked. That way when the cutters go through the marked trees they will be left intact. There has also been coordination with the crane operator to assist when the tree is cut down, to prevent broken limbs. Terry also stated that Roger Jensen and George Thompson, or Bill Thiele, should get together soon.
