Committee Minutes
Monday, August 14, 2017; 3:30 p.m. at City Hall
Members present: Chair Lucarelli, and City staff Jenine Floyd and Bill Thiele. Guests present: Kathleen Wilson;
POBSA, Terry Bontrager; Saints Car Club, and Sharron King; Fathoms O’ Fun Festival Inc.
Kitsap Bank Community Connections 2018
Staff Floyd said she received an email from Kitsap Bank regarding the 2018 Festival of Chimes and Lights Kitsap
Communities Grant application.
Chair Lucarelli would like to apply for as much as possible as we are trying to transition to new holiday decorations.
Lights and Decorations:
Chair Lucarelli said the City can move ahead with the lights, if POBSA will contact the building owners about getting
the hooks on the buildings for hanging the lights. The City will take it from there and hang the lights and shut down
the street. We cannot use our existing poles for cables.
The committee also discussed garland and the tree, lights and timeframes for hanging the lights, and hold harmless
agreement from building owners.
Budget Update
Staff Floyd provided Chair Lucarelli with the current budget for the committee.
Special Event Application
Staff Floyd noted the City is starting to process the special event application for the festival and asked if there were
any changes or additions that need to be added.
After a brief discussion, it was noted there are no changes to the application and to move forward.
In addition, the committee discussed volunteer groups, choirs, garbage, sound system, fire pits, Santa’s sleigh,
portable toilets and bathrooms, movie at the Dragonfly Theatre, brochures and advertising, tree lighter, tractor and
hay rides, and event schedule.
There being no further business, Chair Lucarelli adjourned the meeting at 3:58 p.m. Audio-only recording was
successful.
