Festival of Chimes and Lights
Committee Minutes
Monday, September 25, 2017; 3:30 p.m. at City Hall
Members present: Chair Lucarelli, and City staff Jenine Floyd and Bill Thiele. Guests present: Kathleen Wilson;
POBSA, Terry Bontrager; Saints Car Club, and Sheila Cline; Arthritis Foundation.
Lights and Decorations
Chair Lucarelli noted Port Orchard Bay Street Association (POBSA) will not be doing the special lighting downtown
because we would have to have permission from the building owners to use their buildings and accept liability. We
will use the lights and garlands as we have in the past.
Staff Thiele mentioned all is set up for picking up and bringing the tree to City Hall in November.
Gordon Sound:
Staff Floyd provided Chair Lucarelli with a quote from Gordon Sound for the sound system. The quote total is
$981.00. Ms. Cline said she will ask about pricing for the City to use the same sound system the Arthritis
Foundation uses for the Jingle Bell Run.
Utility Billing Brochures
Chair Lucarelli said they are working on information to provide to the utility billing department, and should have it
completed by the end of the week.
In addition, Ms. Wilson updated the committee on events that are scheduled at the Library.
Volunteer Updates
Staff Floyd said she has confirmed with several of the volunteer groups that they will be attending the event and is
waiting to hear back from a couple more. She also received a call from a local church who was having an event and
wanted to ask about being advertised with Chimes and Lights; and spoke to the store manager of Sleep Number in
Silverdale who asked about setting up a tent with some of their products and brochures, or volunteering for the
event.
The committee continued to discuss and provide updates on scheduled events.
There being no further business, Chair Lucarelli adjourned the meeting at 4:18 p.m. Audio-only recording was
successful.
