Committee Minutes
Monday, June 15, 2020; 3:30 p.m. at City Hall
Members present via remote access: Chair Lucarelli and City staff Floyd. Guests present via remote
access: Sharron King, Fathoms O’ Fun; Sandy Jennings, Soroptimist; and Rita, a Port Orchard citizen.
2020 Festival of Chimes and Lights Theme
Chair Lucarelli mentioned we are still looking for a theme for this year and asked the committee if
anyone had suggestions. She provided a list of ideas and asked the committee to provide theirs. After
discussions, the committee agreed to move forward with ‘A Merry Musical Christmas’ as the theme.
2020 Event Discussion
Ms. Jennings said New Hope Church would like to volunteer for this year’s event.
The committee discussed different organizations who volunteer during the event; carolers; music and
choirs; costumes; 5K run information and timing; budget availability; bagpipers; advertising; website
and social media; drumming and ‘other’ musical competition; children’s singing contest; pet parade;
utilizing the downtown market; asking people to send in videos of them singing; tractor rides; locations
for different events; brochures and advertising; events at the library; street closures and traffic flow;
location for Santa; and budget for decorating common areas.
Insurance Waivers
In response to Chair Lucarelli, staff Floyd said this is still being processed and an update will be
provided during the July meeting.
There being no further business, Chair Lucarelli adjourned the meeting at 4:37 p.m. Audio/Visual
recording was successful.
