Continued: 2020 Event Discussion Chair Lucarelli explained the Port of Bremerton will have a lot of light displays. In response to Chair Lucarelli, Ms. Garcia noted the Port is looking to have a virtual boat parade and Ms. Stansbery gave an update of what POBSA is planning, noting they do not have anything definitive yet. Chair Lucarelli said the events moving forward will be the downtown tree decorating contest, the City Hall Christmas tree, light displays, encouraging business and homes to have more lighting, clock tower music, and possibly the virtual holiday pet costume contest. The new theme for this year is ‘Lights of Joy, Rocks of Cheer’. Events not happening: Pictures with Santa, marching band, choirs, public lighting of tree, pet parade, movies, and hayrides. Discussion was held regarding the Rocks of Cheer event and agreement was held to not have prizes. Organizations will still paint and hide rocks and pictures can be sent to City Hall for posting. Rocks will be hidden in public places like City parks and downtown. The Fathoms O’ Fun Royalty Court and the Port Orchard Chamber of Commerce created a ‘how to’ rock painting video which will be posted to the City’s website. The rocks can be hidden beginning November 7th which coordinates with the downtown tree decorating contest. Additional discussion was held, and it was noted there will be no 5K run; the public market will be holding a gingerbread contest; will need to coordinate how to stream or post virtual videos; and will need to contact Woodside Animal Hospital and ask about a virtual pet costume contest. Public Works Involvement for Day of Event Chair Lucarelli mentioned public works will be placing the trees and putting the tree up in front of City Hall. Advertising Chair Lucarelli said her and City staff are working on the utility billing notices which will include what is scheduled for this year and what will not be moving forward. These will go to every household. Tree Decorating Contest Staff Floyd said 17 planters have been sold so far. There being no further business, Chair Lucarelli adjourned the meeting at 4:34 p.m. Audio/Visual recording was successful.
