017-15 - Resolution - Repealing Resolution 026-14 by Establishing COLA IncreaseIntroduced by: HR Coordinator Requested by: HR Coordinator Drafted by: HR Coordinator Introduced: October 13, 2015 Adopted: October 13, 2015 RESOLUTION NO.017-15 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 026-14, BY ESTABLISHING A COLA INCREASE EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 4, 20159 FOR NON -UNION REPRESENTED EMPLOYEES CLASSIFIED AS FLSA NON EXEMPT WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard has established certain employment benefits for non -union employees; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it in the best interest of the City and City employees to periodically review and update employment benefits, and, in so doing, has determined it is appropriate to adjust the rates of pay for non -union employees by providing a cost of living adjustment WHEREAS, Sections 2, 3, and 5-11 of Resolution No. 123-09, remain unchanged and; now, therefore, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD DOES HEREBY RESOLVE: SECTION 1. Section 4 of Resolution No. 026-14, of the City of Port Orchard is hereby repealed and will now read as follows: SECTION 4. WAGES AND LONGEVITYPAY 1. All employees covered by this Resolution shall be classified and compensated in accordance with the City's annual budget. 1.1 Effective October 4, 2015 the rates of pay set forth above shall be increased by one hundred percent (t00%) of that percentage increase set forth in the All Urban Consumers Index (CPI-U) (1982-1984=100) for the Seattle -Tacoma -Bremerton area for that period from June, 2014 to June, 2015, as is specified by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, United States Department of Labor to (1.6%). SECTION 2. This Resolution shall not change or limit other benefits not listed that covered employees currently have though their employment with the City. Resolution No. 017-15 Page 2 of 2 SECTION 3e If any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause, or phase of this resolution is declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion of this resolution.
