RESOLUTION NO. 024-05
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON,
REPEALING RESOLUTION 1949 AND APPROVING THE
APPOINTMENT OF AN AGENT TO RECEIVE CLAIMS FOR DAMAGES
AS REQUIRED BY RCW 4.96.020.
WHEREAS, state law requires that a claim for damages against a municipality be
presented to and filed with the governing body of the local government entity; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the appropriate agent for receipt of any such
claims filed against the City of Port Orchard is the City Clerk, now therefore
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD DOES HERE RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to RCW 4.96.020, the City Clerk is hereby designated as the
agent to receive all claims for damages filed against the City of Port Orchard.

SECTION 3. A copy of this resolution shall be filed lor recording with the Kitsap
County Auditor's Office.
SECTION 4. Resolution 1949 is hereby repealed.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, APPROVED by the Mayor, and
attested by the Clerk in authentication of such passage this 12th day of September 2005.
