A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON
REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 010-08, AND PROVIDING THE
PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR AND MAYOR WITH CHANGE ORDER
AUTHORIZATION
WHEREAS, on February 12, 2008, the City Council passed Resolution No. 010-08,
which provided that the Public Works Director could approve change orders up to $1,000; change
orders between $1,001 and $15,000 would have to be preapproved by the Mayor and all change
orders over $15,000 would be approved by the City Council; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City of Port Orchard to facilitate the timely and
efficient conduct of city business; and
WHEREAS, subsequently it was discovered that Resolution No. 010-08, contains a
scrivener's error, to wit: it is the Council's intent that change orders over $1,001 and less than
$15,000 shall be approved by the Mayor, rather than preapproved; now, therefore
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
THAT: Resolution No. 010-08, is repealed in its entirety.
THAT: the Public Works Director's change order authority is limited to $1,000 or
less.
THAT: change orders over $1,001 and less than $15,000 shall be approved by
the Mayor.
THAT: the change order dollar thresholds apply on a per project basis and
change orders in excess of $15,000 shall be approved by the City Council at its
next regularly scheduled meeting.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, APPROVED by the Mayor
and attested by the Clerk in authentication of such passage this 11th day of March 2008.
