RESOLUTION NO. 23 - 08
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON APPROVING AND CERTIFYING THE
COMPREHENSIVE PARKS PLAN FOR THE CITY OF
PORT ORCHARD.
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard has adopted a Comprehensive
Parks Plan and capital improvement plan to implement the goals and objectives of the
Parks and Open Space Element of the City’s Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard has actively sought citizen input,
including the use of a public survey, to improve the municipal parks and to develop future
programs; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has from time to time revised the
Comprehensive Parks Plan in order to address the changing needs of the community ; and
WHEREAS, on April 22, 2008, the City Council held a public hearing to
receive additional public input regarding proposed changes to the Comprehensive Parks
Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the proposed changes to the
Comprehensive Parks Plan, including revisions to the capital improvement plan, are
consistent with the Parks and Opens Space Element of the City’s Comprehensive Plan;
now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE THE FOLLOWING:
THAT: The City of Port Orchard approves and certifies the
Comprehensive Parks Plan for the City of Port Orchard, as amended, a copy of which is
attached hereto as Exhibit A.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, APPROVED by the
Mayor and attested by the Clerk in authentication of such passage this 22nd day of April 2008.
