A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON,
DECLARING FRIDAY, DECEMBER 26, 2008 AND FRIDAY, JANUARY
2, 2009, AS A CITY HALL CLOSURE
WHEREAS, December 25, 2008, Christmas Day, falls on a Thursday and it is
anticipated that there will be minimal public use of City services on Friday, December 26, 2008,
and
WHEREAS, January 1, 2009, New Year's Day, falls on a Thursday and it is
anticipated that there will be minimal public use of City services on Friday, January 2, 2009,
and
WHEREAS, the Friday closures have been requested by employees of the City
of Port Orchard and it will increase staff morale to remain closed to the public on Friday,
December 26, 2008 and Friday, January 2, 2009; now therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON,
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
THAT: the City of Port Orchard offices will be closed to the public
on Friday, December 26, 2008, this day only. Staff has the option
of: (1) using their accrued vacation leave, personal or floating
holiday, or camp time; (2) working during the closure; or (3)
taking leave without pay if they choose not to work during the
closure.
THAT: the City of Port Orchard offices will be closed to the public
on Friday, January 2, 2009, this day only. Staff has the option of:
(1) using their accrued vacation leave, personal or floating
holiday, or camp time; (2) working during the closure; or (3)
taking leave without pay if they choose not to work during the
closure.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, SIGNED by the Mayor
and attested by the Clerk in authentication of such passage this 23rd day o~ tember, 2008.
