Public Property Committee Meeting Minutes Monday February 9, 2015
Committee Members present: Council members Bek Ashby, Fred Chang, & Jeff Cartwright
City Staff Present: Development Director Nick Bond, Public Works Director Mark Dorsey, DCD Front Counter Clerk Lisa Stone, and Associate Planner Elle Davis
Guests: Mayor Tim Matthes, Larry Chatman, Ryan Lund, Bob Showers, David Frayser (on phone) and Nick Compan (on phone) The meeting was called to order at 8:30 a.m. by Councilmember Jeff Cartwright. 1. Discussion: Mind Mixer. Development Director Nick Bond provided the committee with a conference
call and web presentation of the Mind Mixer program. David Frayser and Nick Kaufman showed the
committee how the program works and what kind of information it can provide. Frayser stated the
software allows users to use multiple formats to provide their opinion. Bond stated it would cost $2000
a year for the Mind Mixer for Department of Community Development and $4000 a year for a universal
subscription for all departments. Committee recommended that Bond prepare a contract and present it
to the full Council for approval.
2. Discussion: Active Club. Public Works Director Mark Dorsey said he has received complaints from the
Pee Wees about rats and flooding. Dorsey provided committee with an estimate for repairs to resolve
the flooding issues, which would cost $64, 000. Dorsey mentioned the Little League and Pee Wee leases
are coming up for renewal this year. Ryan Lund, SK Pee Wees, said the Pee Wees intend to renew their
lease. Lund said he would like time to reach out to the Pee Wees email list to help find resources for the
repairs to the building. Councilmember Cartwright would like to give the Pee Wees time to come up
with a solution. Committee agrees.
With that discussion, Cartwright closed the meeting.
