A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A
MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING WITH THE
TEAMSTERS LOCAL NO. 589 (ON BEHALF OF THE PATROL
OFFICER EMPLOYEES AND THE SERGEANT EMPLOYEES
BARGAINING UNITS)
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard and the Teamsters Local No. 589
(Teamsters) are voluntarily entering into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)
agreement for the purpose of modifying: (1) Section 16.5 of the Collective Bargaining
Agreement (CBA) between the City of Port Orchard and the Teamsters (representing the
Patrol Officer Employees bargaining unit); and (2) Section 16.5 of the CBA between the
City of P01t Orchard and the Teamsters (representing the Sergeant Employees
bargaining unit);
WHEREAS, each of the subject CBAs has an effective date of October 1, 2006
through September 30, 2009; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the MOU is to address changes to the prescription
drug benefits provided for by each of the subject CBAs, now, therefore;
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
THAT: The Mayor is authorized to execute the MOU, on behalf of the
City of Port Orchard, which is attached hereto as Exhibit A.

MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF PORT
ORCHARD AND THE TEAMSTERS LOCAL NO. 589 (ON BEHALF OF THE
PATROL OFFICER EMPLOYEES AND THE SERGEANT EMPLOYEES)
The City of Port Orchard and the Teamsters Local No. 589 are voluntarily entering into
this Memorandum of Understanding ("MOU") for the purpose of modifying the
following two Collective Bargaining Agreements ("CBAs"):
1. The CBA between the City of Port Orchard and the Teamsters Local No. 589
(representing the Patrol Officer Employees), effective October 1, 2006 through
September 30, 2009; and
2. The CBA between the City of Port Orchard and the Teamsters Local No. 589
(representing the Sergeant Employees), effective October 1, 2006 through
September 30, 2009.
Section 16.5 of each of the foregoing CBAs shall be deemed amended to add the
following sentence at the end of Section 16.5:
"The Employer will reimburse the employee four dollars ($4) for each brand
name prescription not on the formulary (also called 'preferred') list."
This MOU shall remain in effect for the duration of the each of the subject CBAs
referenced above.
As recited above, this MOU is entered into freely and voluntarily by the City of Port
Orchard and the Teamsters Local No. 589 on behalf of the Patrol Officer Employees
Bargaining Unit and the Sergeant Employees Bargaining Unit.
