RESOLUTION NO. 024-09
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT
ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, APPROVING
SPECIAL FUNDING ALLOCATIONS FROM
THE HOTEL/MOTEL TAX FUND
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard receives funding from local Hotel/Motel
taxes on a per bed rate; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard each year estimates the projected revenue
for the coming year in order for the funds to be spent by various organizations
promoting tourism on behalf of the City; and
WHEREAS, the projected revenues for 2008 were estimated at $137,180 and
the total amount paid out was $116,399-48, which left a carryover balance of $20,780.52
into 2009; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk's office received four requests for special funding
from the Hotel/Motel Tax Fund and historically, the City has approved special funding
allocations;
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
THAT: That the City Council approves the special funding
allocations from the Hotel/Motel Tax Fund as follows:
• Port of Bremerton for: Boater Bags $500
• Port Orchard Chamber of Commerce $5,000
for: office supportjtourismjconsumer
responses and television media advertising
• Concerts by the Bay for: promotion and $5,000
advertising of summer concert series
• City's Tourism Committee for: $3,000

be determined by the Tourism Committee
