A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE GRANT AGREEMENT WITH WASHINGTON
AUTO THEFT PREVENTION AUTHORITY FOR
AUTOMATIC LICENSE PLATE RECOGNITION
FUNDING
WHEREAS, The City of Port Orchard Police Department applied for a grant
through the Washington Auto Theft Prevention Authority for the purpose of obtaining
ALPR equipment to help detect stolen autos and apprehending auto thieves and other
wanted persons; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard Police Department was notified on March
20, 2009, of the grant award for $30,805 to be used towards automated license plate
recognition (ALPR) equipment; now therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
THAT: The City of Port Orchard accepts the grant award of $30,805
from the Washington Auto Theft Prevention Authority to be used for
the purchase of the automated license plate recognition equipment and
further authorizes the Mayor to execute the grant agreement.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, SIGNED by the Mayor and
attested by the Clerk in authentication of such passage this 14th da April 200
