A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, APPROVING THE LODGING TAX ADVISORY
COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION FOR FOOT FERRY FUNDING.
WHEREAS, the City Council partnered with the Port of Bremerton and the City of
Bremerton to extend foot ferry service hours for the Kitsap Harbor Festival, which occurred
Memorial weekend; and
WHEREAS, the City desired to partner again with the Port of Bremerton and the City of
Bremerton to provide extended foot feny service hours for five festivals that occur on Sundays
in 2009; and
WHEREAS, all three entities have agreed to partner and fund the costs to be divided
equally among the three entities in one-third shares for all five festivals, which is estimated to be
$1,900 per entity; and
WHEREAS, the Lodging Tax Advisoty Committee met on June 10, 2009, to discuss
funding future extended hours for foot ferry service for the five festivals that fall on Sundays;
now, therefore
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON,
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
THAT: The City approves the Lodging Tax Advisoty Committee's
recommendation to use HoteljMotel Tax funds in an amount not to
exceed $1,900 for payment of the City's one-third share to extend foot
feny service hours on the following Sundays: June 28, August 9, August
30, September 6, and September 13, 2009.
