EXECUTE A CONTRACT WITH KITSAP HARBOR TOURS,

WHEREAS, The Lodging Tax Advisory Committee met to discuss Foot Ferry
funding for Festivals that occur on Sundays and recommended using HoteljMotel Tax
funds to operate the Foot ferry for the five Festivals that occur on Sundays; and
WHEREA..'i, the Port of Bremerton and the City of Bremerton support the
funding of Foot Ferry service for the five Festivals that occur on Sundays and each has
agreed to pay one-third of the cost; and
WHEREAS, at the June 23, 2009, City Council meeting it was approved to use
Hotel/Motel Tax money for the City's one-third share of funding for Foot Ferry service
for Festivals that fall on Sundays, due to the reduction of Foot Ferry service by Kitsap
Transit through budget cuts; and
WHEREAS, The City Clerk has negotiated with Kitsap Harbor Tours to operate
the Foot Ferry on five festival event days that fall on Sunday for an hourly rate of
$146.25 per hour for a minimum of 8 hours per event Sunday; and
WHEREAS, Kitsap Harbor Tours will charge $1 each way and will reduce the
overall costs by the amount collected on that event day, for which invoices will be sent
to the City of Port Orchard and the City Clerk will ensure payment is made by all three
parties, the City of Bremerton, Port of Bremerton, and the City of Port Orchard; now,
therefore
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
THAT: The City Council authorizes the Mayor to execute a
contract with Kitsap Harbor Tours, LLC for Foot Ferry services,
with the City's one-third share to be paid out of the Hotel/Motel
Resolution No. 071-09

Tax fund in an amount not to exceed $1,900. Foot Ferry service
will be funded for the following Sundays: June 28, August 9, August
30, September 6, and September 13, 2009.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, SIGNED by the Mayor and
attested by the Clerk in authentication of such passage this 14th day of July 2009.
