A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO
EXECUTE MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
BETWEEN CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, CITY OF
BREMERTON, AND THE PORT OF BREMERTON FOR
FOOT FERRY FUNDING SERVICES

WHEREAS, at its July 14, 2009, meeting the Council approved a contract with Kitsap
Harbor Tours to provide extended foot ferry services hours for five festivals that occur on
Sundays; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard, the Port of Bremerton and the City of Bremerton
have partnered together to ensure the funding of Foot Ferry service for the five Festivals that
occur on Sundays and each entity has agreed to pay one-third of the cost; and
WHEREAS, at the June 23, 2009, City Council meeting it was approved to use
Hotel/Motel Tax money for the City's one-third share of funding for foot ferry service for
Festivals that fall on Sundays, due to the reduction of service by Kitsap Transit through budget
cuts; now, therefore
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON,
HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
THAT: The City Council authorizes the Mayor to execute a
memorandum of understanding between the City of Port Orchard, the
City of Bremerton, and the Port of Bremetton for Foot Ferry Funding
Services.
PASS ED by the City Council of the City of Pmt Orchard, SIGNED by the Mayor and attested
by the Clerk in authentication of such passage this 28th day of July 2009. ~?
