A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE GRANT AGREEMENT
WITH DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE OFFICE OF COMMUNITY
ORIENTED POLICING SERVICES FOR THE HIRING OF ONE POLICE
OFFICER
WHEREAS, The City of Port Orchard Police Department applied for a grant
through the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Community Oriented Policing Services
for the purpose of obtaining funding to hire additional police officers; and
WHEREAS, the City of Pmt Orchard Police Department was notified on July
28, 2009, of the grant award for $243,135 to be used towards the personnel costs of one
new police officer over the next three years,
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
THAT: The City of Port Orchard accepts the grant award of $243,135
from the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Community Oriented
Policing Services to be used for the hiring of one additional police and
further authorizes the Mayor to execute the grant agreement.
