A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING THE HIRING OF ONE POLICE
OFFICER
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard Police Department has seen an increase in
calls for police service of 19% in 2010 and 13% to date in 2011, and has seen a population
increase of approximately 30% over the last two years, and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard has identified additional revenue through
unprojected increases in sales tax, and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard has studied the need for additional staffing
to maintain the quality level of police service for its citizens, businesses, and visitors
alike.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
THAT: The City Council of the City of Port Orchard authorizes the hiring
of one additional police officer to complement the department's
existing authorized strength.

attested by the Clerk in authentication of such passage this 12th day of April2011.
