A RESOLUfiON OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, AUfHORIZING A TRANSACfiONAL
ACCOUNT FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF RECEIPTING AND
DISBURSING PROCEEDS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR
AND INDUSTRY SAFETY AND HEALTH INVESTMENT
PROJECfS GRANT
WHEREAS, the Department of Labor and Industry (L & I) approved a Safety and Health
Investment Projects (SHIP) grant on May 6, 2013, and subsequent council action authorized the
acceptance of the terms and conditions of the grant; and
WHEREAS, any L & I SHIP Grant No. 2013RC00209 funds forwarded to the City may
not be commingled with any other funds and must be held in a non-interest bearing account as
provided in the Special Terms and Conditions 6-4; and
WHEREAS,· the receipting and disbursing transactional account is considered an
account within the City's public depositary Kitsap Bank Port Orchard, WA as provided in
Chapter 39.58 RCW PUBLIC FUNDS -DEPOSITS AND INVESTMENTS -PUBLIC
DEPOSITARIES; and
WHEREAS, the non-interest bearing transactional account shall be for the sole
purpose of the SHIP projects program grant and shall be closed upon completion or
termination of the SHIP projects grant; now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
THAT: the City Treasurer is authorized to open a transactional account
(checking) at Kitsap Bank for the sole purpose of accounting for SHIP
projects grant proceeds as outlined in the L & I SHIP Grant No
2013RCoo209 L & I Contract No . K-1879.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, SIGNED by the Mayor and
attested by the Clerk in authentication of such passage this nth day of June 2013.
