A RESOLUfiON OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, ACCEPTING A DONATION OF PUBLIC ART
FROM AN ANONYMOUS SOURCE
WHEREAS, Port Orchard has been offered a donation of an art sculpture
created by local artist Karsten Boysen; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Boysen has represented that an anonymous third party would
like to compensate Mr. Boysen for his sculpture titled "Nike" and donate it to the City of
Port Orchard for display as a veterans memorial; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard wishes to conditionally accept the donated
art for placement within the City at a location and date to be determined in the future by
the City; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Boysen has agreed to store the sculpture until such time as a
site is identified for installation at whichtime Mr. Boysen will deliver and install the
sculpture; now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON,HEREBYRESOLVESASFOLLOWS:
THAT: The City Council of Port Orchard does hereby accept the donation
of the Sculpture "Nike" as created by artist Karsten Boysen and donated by
an anonymous source to be installed as a Veterans Memorial by the artist
at a location and date to be determined in the future by the City.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, SIGNED by the Mayor and
attested by the Clerk in authentication of such passage this 25th day of June 2013.
