A RESOLliTION OF THE CI1Y OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, HONORING ASSISTANT CI1Y TREASURER
MONICA KAY HAARSTAD FOR THIR1Y-THREE YEARS OF
DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CI1Y OF PORT ORCHARD
WHEREAS, on January 21, 1981, Monica Haarstad began a long and successful
career serving the Citizens of the City of Port Orchard first as a cashier -bookkeeper;
and
WHEREAS, Monica's work ethic and attention to detail was recognized by co-
workers, supervisors, elected officials, and citizens resulting in her promotion to
Assistant City Treasurer and Internal Auditor for the City of Port Orchard; and
WHEREAS, Monica's 33 year municipal finance career resulted m an
unblemished audit record with the State Auditor's Office; and
WHEREAS, Monica was a role model for public accountants through her active
membership in the Washington Finance Officers Association, the Puget Sound Finance
Officers Association, and as President of the Washington Municipal Treasurers
Association; and
WHEREAS, her personnel file is brimming with commendations, recognitions,
and letters of praise for jobs well done; and
WHEREAS, Monica's unwavering positive attitude and high personal standards
will live on through those she mentored; now, therefore,
THE CI1Y COUNCIL OF THE CI1Y OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
THAT: Monica Kay Haarstad has earned the admiration and respect of
our community for her many years of dedicated service to the City of
Port Orchard and justly deserves the very best in the years ahead.
