Festival of Chimes and Lights
Committee Minutes
Monday, April 19, 2021; 3:30 p.m.
Members present via remote access: Chair Lucarelli and City staff Floyd. Guests present via remote access:
Sharron King, Fathoms O’ Fun Festival, Inc., Rita, a Port Orchard citizen, and Kathy Garcia, Port of
Bremerton.
Tree Decorating Contest Flyer
Discussion was held regarding information to add to the flyer which included decorating to start on
November 8th, judging will be held sometime after November 25th, posting the name of the winners to
City’s website the day of the Festival – December 4th, City to place trees starting November 1st, the large
City tree will go up the week of November 15th, payments to be accepted starting May 1st, tree decorations
to be removed by January 17, 2022, City will start to remove trees starting January 18, 2022, no giving trees
this year, and all trees need to have light.
Continued: Numbering Planters
Chair Lucarelli mentioned the planters will be numbered same as last year.
The Committee discussed ideas for numbering the planters.
Brainstorm Ideas for Other Possible Safe Events
Discussion was held regarding continuing the Rocks of Love event and an Around the World Passport to be
stamped when wearing costumes.
Additional Discussion
Ms. Garcia said the Port of Bremerton typically starts decorating right before Thanksgiving. Ms. King
mentioned the Fathoms O’ Fun Santa breakfast is scheduled for the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Chair
Lucarelli said we need to verify if there will be decorated boats this year, we will have ad recognition and
prizes for tree sponsors, and the Christmas Around the World theme will start next year.
The Committee agreed the next meeting will be scheduled for June, unless something comes up in the
meantime.
There being no further business, Chair Lucarelli adjourned the meeting at 3:57 p.m. Audio/Visual recording
was successful.
