A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN INTERTOCAL AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF
FORKS FOR PRISONER CONFINEMENT SERVICES.
WHEREAS, the City has historically utilized the prisoner confinement services of the jail
facilities owned and operated by the City of Forks for confinement of misdemeanant and gross
misdemeanant arrestees; and
WHEREAS, the City of Forks is willing to provide jail services for City of Port Orchard
prisoners in accordance with the terms and conditions of the lnterlocal Agreement for Prisoner
Confinement Services, attached hereto as Exhibit A; and
WHEREAS, the City Council deems it to be in the best interest of the City to enter into
the attached lnterlocal Agreement with the City of Forks; now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, HEREBY RESOLVES
AS FOLLOWS:
THAT: lt is the intent of the Port Orchard City Council that the recitals set forth above
are hereby adopted and incorporated as findings in support of this Resolution.
THAT: The City Council approves of and authorizes the Mayor to execute the lnterlocal
Agreement with the City of Forks for Prisoner Confinement Services attached hereto as
Exhibit A and incorporated herein by this reference.
THAT: The Resolution shalltake fullforce and effect upon passage and signatures
hereon.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, SIGNED by the Mayor and attested
by the Clerk in authentication of such passage this 22nd day of June 2021.
