045-08 - Ordinance - Amending the Budget for 2008ORDINANCE NO. 045-08 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON AMENDING THE BUDGET FOR THE YEAR 2008 A5 ADOPTED BY ORDINANCE NO. 042-07 TO RECOGNIZE REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES NOT ANTICIPATED AT THE TIME OF THE ADOPTION OF THE 2008 BUDGET. WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard adopted its 2008 Budget in Ordinance No. 042-07; and WHEREAS, the City budgeted a total of $125,680 for various organizations and associations to receive Hotel/Motel Tax from the Community Events Fund; and WHEREAS, on March 25, 2008 the City Council authorized an additional funding allocation of a minimum amount of $8,600 to a maximum of $11,500, based on revenue received, to Cedar Cove Days in 2008; and WHEREAS, unencumbered portions of fund balances are available to offset the $8,600 additional 2008 expenditure; and WHEREAS, it appears the December remittance may have the City receiving more than the $125,680 that was originally budgeted for various organizations and associations to receive from the Community Events Fund; and WHEREAS, pursuant to RCW 35.33.091, it is necessary to make adjustments to accounts and/or funds by means of appropriation adjustments for the purpose of meeting additional expenditures in 2008 not reasonably foreseeable at the time the 2008 budget was adopted in Ordinance 042-07; now therefore, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section Y. The 2008 Budget is amended to reflect the following additional revenues: (a) Unencumbered fund balance from the Community Events Fund totaling $8,600, (b) Hotel/Motel Tax totaling $2,900. Section 2. The 2008 Budget is amended to reflect the following: (a) Appropriation of $11,500 from the Community Events Fund to pay Cedar Cove Days a minimum of $8,600 to a maximum of $11,500. A summary of this ordinance may be published in lieu of the entire ordinance, as authorized by State law.
