AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE CITY'S COMPREHENSIVE
PLAN AND MAP BY DESIGNATING PROPERTIES OWNED BY
SOUTH KITSAP SCHOOL DISTRICT (TAX NOS. 252401-3-
003-2009 & 252401-3-002-2000) AS COMMUNITY
FACILITIES.
WHEREAS, on 3une 12, 1995 the City Council by Ordinance No. 1634
adopted the City's Comprehensive Plan; and
WHEREAS, on December 28, 1998 the City Council in Ordinance No. 1748
adopted the City's Zoning Ordinance; and
WHEREAS, South Kitsap School District is seeking to change the
Comprehensive Plan Designation and Map for two parcels adjacent to the South Kitsap
High School from Commercial to Community Facilities; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission met on December 5, 2007 and
resolved to recommend approval of the School District's proposal, based on the findings
that the proposed redesignation was consistent with the Comprehensive Plan and the
designation of the other adjacent parcels owned by the South Kitsap School District; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has received the recommendation of the
Planning Commission concerning these issues, held a public hearing on December 10, 2007
to take public testimony, and finds that it is in the public interest to amend the
Comprehensive Plan and Map to designate the South Kitsap School District properties (Tax
Nos. 252401-3-003-2009 and 252401-3-002-2000) as Community Facilities, with future
zoning to be addressed by a site -specific rezone when a development proposal is formally
submitted; now, therefore:
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Ordinance No. 1634, the City of Port Orchard Comprehensive
Plan and Map, is hereby amended to designate the South Kitsap School District Properties
as Community Facilities.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect five (5) days
after posting and publication as required by law. A summary of this Ordinance may be
published in lieu of the entire ordinance, as authorized by State Law.

PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, APPROVED by the
Mayor and attested by the Clerk in authentication of such passage this 19th day of
