AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, AMENDING PORT ORCHARD MUNICIPAL CODE
SECTION 2.04.010 REGARDING MEETING TIME AND PLACE.
WHEREAS, the rules governing city council meetings are set forth in Chapter
2.04 of the Port Orchard Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, in 1966, the city council adopted Ordinance No. 755, codified in
Port Orchard Municipal Code section 2.04.010, regarding meeting time and place; and
WHEREAS, in 2004 the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 1931 amending
Port Orchard Municipal Code section 2.04.010, regarding meeting time and place; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to revise the regular City Council
meeting times; now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Port Orchard Municipal Code section 2.04.010 is hereby
amended to read as follows:
2.04.010 Meeting time and place.
The regular meeting of the City Council shall be held on the second
and fourth Monday of every month, in the council chambers of City
Hall commencing at the hour of 7:00 p.m. and continue to 10:00 p.m.
To continue past the 10:00 p.m. adjournment time, a majority of the
City Council must concur. In the event any regular meeting falls on a
holiday, the City Council shall meet on the next business day at the
same hour.
SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effective on March 27,
2006, which is more than five (5) days after posting and publication as required by law. A
summary of this Ordinance may be published in lieu of the entire ordinance, as authorized
by State Law.

PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, APPROVED by the
Mayor and attested by the Clerk in authentication of such passage this 27th day of February
2006.
