WASHINGTON, AMENDING PORT ORCHARD MUNICIPAL CODE
SECTION 15.04.010 BY ADDING ANEW SECTION 15.04.010(4)
REGARDING CLIMATIC AND GEOGRAPHIC DESIGN CRITERIA
WHEREAS, the state building code council periodically adopts uniform codes
of statewide applicability, collectively referred to as the state building code; and
WHEREAS, the state building code council has updated the state building
code by adopting the 2003 editions of the International Code Council building, residential,
and mechanical codes and the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical
Officials plumbing code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the public health, safety, and welfare
would be served by adopting standardized design criteria specific to the City of Port
Orchard; now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Port Orchard Municipal Code Section 15.04.010 is hereby
amended by the addition of a new section 15.04.010(4) to read as follows:
(4) International Residential Code (IRC) Table R301.2(1) is amended in the
blanks of the table as follows:
Ground Snow Load = 30 psf
Wind Speed = 85 mph
Seismic Design Category = D2
Weathering = Moderate
Frost Line Depth = 12 inches
Termite = Slight to Moderate
Decay = Moderate to Severe
Winter Design Temp = 26
Ice Shield Underlayment Required = No
Flood Hazards = (a) 1980, (b) 1980
Air Freezing Index = 148
Mean Annual Temp = 51.4
