A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
ACCEPTING THE LODGING TAX ADVISORY
RECOMMENDATION FOR THE REMAINING 2021 FUNDS.

COMMITTEE'S
WHEREAS, on May 27,2O2'J., notice was published notifying the public that the City was
accepting proposals for the Hotel/Motel Lodging Tax funding applications for 202'L; and
WHEREAT proposals were due to the City Clerk no later than June 28,2021; and
WHEREAS, on July 8,2021, the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee met to review the applications
and provide their recommendations to City Council; and
WHEREAS, on July 13, 2O2L, the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee's recommendation was
presented to the Council; however, the Council rejected the allocations and remanded it back to the
committee;and
WHEREAS, on July 16, 2O2!, staff reopened the acceptance of applications for applicants to
have the opportunity to re-submit new proposals to include the cost of providing a traffic control plan
and/or certified flaggers for an event/festival designed to attract tourists. The closing date was July
26,2021; and
WHEREAS, on July 29, 2021, the Lodging Tax Committee reconvened to discuss the
applications and to provide a recommendation to the Council; and now, therefore,
THE CIW COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
THAT: The City Council accepts the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee's 2O2L lodging
tax recommendations as follows:
