AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING PORT ORCHARD MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 2,04.050
RELATING TO MAYOR AND CLERK.
Copies of Ordinance No. 012-05 are available for review at the office of the City Clerk of the City of Port
Orchard. Upon written request a statement of the full text of the Ordinance will be mailed to any
interested person without charge. Thirty days after publication, copies of Ordinance No. 012-05 will be
provided at a nominal charge.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT
ORCHARD, WASHINGTON AMENDING PORT
ORCHARD MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 2.04.050
RELATING TO MAYOR AND CLERK
WHEREAS, on May 9, 1966, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 755,
establishing rules of conduct for City Council meetings; and
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 755 was codified as Section 2.04.050 of the
Port Orchard Municipal Code and directs the Mayor or Mayor pro tempore appoint one
of the members of the council as Clerk pro tempore.
WHEREAS, it is the City Council's intention that the Deputy City Clerk be
authorized to act as Clerk pro tempore in the absence of the City Clerk; now therefore
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 2.04.050 of the Port Orchard Municipal Code is
amended to read as follows:
2.04.050 Mayor and City Clerk. All meetings of the City
Council shall be presided over by the Mayor, or in the Mayor's
absence, by the Mayor Protem. If the City Clerk is absent from a
Council meeting, the Deputy City Clerk is authorized to act as City
Clerk Pro tempore.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, signed by the
Mayor and attested by the Clerk in authentication of such passage the 11t" day of July
2005.
