1861 - Ordinance - Amending Section 10.12.170 Regarding Inoperable VehiclesNOTICE OF CITY OF PORT ORCHARD ORDINANCE The following is a summary of an Ordinance approved by the Port Orchard City Council at their regular Council meeting held June 24, 2002. ORDINANCE NO. 1861 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, AMENDING PORT ORCHARD MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 10.12.170 REGARDING INOPERABLE VEHICLES. Copies of Ordinance No. 1861 are available for review at the office of the City Clerk of the City of Port Orchard. Upon written request a statement of the full text of the Ordinance will be mailed to any interested person without charge. Thirty days afler publication, copies of Ordinance No. 1861 will be provided at a nominal charge. City of Port Orchard ' Michelle Merlin0 Deputy Clerk Publish: Port Orchard Independent July 3, 2002 K itsap1epals~soundpublishing.com ORDINANCE NO. 1861 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, AMENDING PORT ORCHARD MUNICIPAL CODE SECTION 10.12.170 REGARDING INOPERABLE VEHICLES WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard limits the length of time an inoperable vehicle can be parked on public right of way; and WHEREAS, missing or shattered windshields and windows are indicative of an inoperable or unsafe vehicle; ORDAIN THAT: THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON DOES Section 1. Port Orchard Municipal Code Section 10.12.170 is amended to read as follows: 10.12.170 Inoperable automobiles. No motor vehicle that is inoperable for such reasons as an inoperable engine, transmission failure, flat tire, missing windows, shattered windshield glass that impairs the driver’s visibility, or other deficiency shall park on city right-of-way for more than seven consecutive days. Violation of this section is a Class A parking infraction. Section 2. If any section, subsection, paragraph, sentence, clause, or phrase of this ordinance is declared unconstitutional or invalid for any reason, such invalidity shall not affect the validity or effectiveness of the remaining portions of this ordinance. Section 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect five (5) days afler posting and publication as required by law. A summary of this Ordinance may be published in lieu of the entire Ordinance, as authorized by State law.
