1829 - Ordinance - Amending Chapter 2.30 Civil Service Membership TermsORDINANCE NO. 1829 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, AMENDING PORT ORCHARD MUNICIPAL CODE CHAPTER 2.30 TO CORRECT A SCRIVENERS ERROR. (Ordinance No. 1704 is hereby amended) THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Port Orchard Municipal Code Chapter 2.30 Subsection 2.30.010 is amended to read as follows: 2.30.010 Created. Pursuant to RCW Chapter 41.12 there is hereby created a Civil Service Commission to exercise the powers and perform the duties established by such state law in connection with the selection, appointment, and employment of police personnel of the City of Port Orchard. SECTION 2. Port Orchard Municipal Code Chapter 2.30 Subsection 2.30.020 is amended to read as follows: 2.30.020 Membership - Terms. The City of Port Orchard Civil Service Commission shall be composed of three (3) members who shall serve without compensation and who shall have the qualifications, powers and duties prescribed and directed by Chapter 41.12 of R.C.W. The Commission members shall be appointed by the mayor for six-year terms to expire on the 31st day of December. SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effective five (5) days after publication as required by law. A summary of this Ordinance may be published in lieu of the entire ordinance, as authorized by state law.
