1830 - Ordinance - Repealing Chapter 2.08.010 Appointment and Removal of City Clerk, Treasurer, Engineer and ChiefNOTICE OF CITY OF PORT ORCHARD ORDINANCE The following is a summary of an Ordinance approved by the Port Orchard City Council at their regular Council meeting held September 24, 2001. ORDINANCE NO. 1830 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, REPEALING POMC 2.08.010 AND REESTABLISHING PROCEDURES FOR THE APPOINTMENT AND REMOVAL OF THE CITY CLERK, CITY TREASURER, CITY ENGINEER AND POLICE CHIEF. Copies of Ordinance No. 1830 are available for review at the office of the City Clerk of the City of Port Orchard. Upon written request a statement of the full text of the Ordinance will be mailed to any interested person without charge. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Port Orchard desires to update and maintain Port Orchard Municipal Code Section 2.08.010, now, therefore, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. Port Orchard Municipal Code Chapter 2.08 Subsection 2.08.010 shall read as follows: 2.08.010 Appointment and removal of the City Clerk, City Treasurer, City Engineer and Police Chief. The Mayor of the city may appoint or remove the City Clerk, City Treasurer, City Engineer, and the Police Chief, subject to a confirmation vote by a majority of not less than four members of the City Council. Such appointments and removals must be in writing, signed by the Mayor and filed with the City Clerk.
