RE: Committee Minutes
The Public Property Committee met at 7:30 AM, Thursday, 21 March 1991
at Myhre's Restaurant. Members present were Carolyn Powers, Jesse
Smith and Jack:: Grable. Also present was Larry Curles.
The Committee discussed the old landfill area. Methane testing has
indicated that there is methane in the area. The firm representing
Callisons has retracted its interest in the use of the landfill area.
The only two parties that still show an interest in the area are Dr
Minor and RV Associates. The Committee went out to the site to
discuss its utilisation. A second meeting with the two parties is
scheduled for 8 AM, Friday, 22 March. The meeting will be on site.
The City Engineer has arranged for Rill Reems to appraise the
Reck:nagle property. The appraisal will cost about $100 and will be
completed in a week:. Richards and Associates wanted $750 for an
appraisal and would require two months to complete it.
The Committee discussed the parking problem around the Courthouse.
Carolyn Powers has learned that the County has purchased a home
across Taylor- street and is planning to construct a parking lot
across that street.
The Committee discussed the Recreation Summit that was held recently.
It is the Committee's desire to begin the City process to locate a
new neighborhood park: in order to purchase the property this year.
The new playground toys have been ordered.
