12/11/1995 - MinutesF) eYY\ - 00 P PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT 11 December 1995 TO: Growth Management/Planning Committee FM: City Engineer RE: Committee Minutes The Growth Management/Planning Committee met at the Pot Belly Deli for a breakfast meeting on 8 December 1995. Members present were Warren Van Zee, Carolyn Powers, and Bob Geiger. Also present was Larry Curles. The Committee discussed the request to place a "monument sign" in the right of way at Tremont Street and South Kitsap Boulevard. The signs are unusual in that they deviate from both the guidelines of the Tremont Street Corridor Plan and those of the Health Care Campus. Each Council member has a copy of the proposal. Since one sign is 23 feet tall, the Committee recommends a public hearing before a decision is made. (The suggest date is 26 December) The draft concurrency ordinance was reviewed. Concurrency is new State requirement where the local agency has to confirm that the infrastructure is available before a building permit is issued. The Committee will arrange for a full Council discussion of the ordinance prior to a recommendation. cc Clerk City Attorney /5-2W4 1-1-7z
