The Public Property Committee met at City Hall, 13 July 1995.
Members present were Carolyn Powers and Jack Grable. John Clauson
was absent since the discussion was about the Kitsap Transit
lease. Don Morrison substituted for John Clauson. Also present
was Larry Curles.
The Committee reviewed the proposed lease for Kitsap Transit for
use of the library office space.
1. Of special concern is the word "average" as it applies
to the rent calculations. Further information will be
sought from Kitsap Transit.
2. The reference to Workman's Compensation is unusual for
a City contract.
The Committee was advised that three changes will be negotiated
concerning the library. These are:
1. The change to a concrete slab floor from a wood floor
for the work room.
2. The use of metal door frames and supports for the
restrooms to compensate for the fact the CMU walls were
not grouted as expected.
3. The increase of some floor joists due to the heavier
loads associated with a library.
