A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, IN
SUPPORT OF THE COMMUNITY ECONOMIC REVITALIZATION
BOARD (CERB) FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FOR THE PORT OF

BREMERTON NATIONAL AIRPORT.
WHEREAS, the City supports economic development programs in the South Kitsap
County region, and
WHEREAS, Bremerton National Airport is an under-utilized airport in the region but has
the potential to become a magnet for increase commercial aviation development, and
WHEREAS, the Port of Bremerton's capital improvement plan has included construction
of structures along Bremerton National Airport's fiight line in support of and to promote aviation-related
business, and
WHEREAS, the Port of Bremerton has developed plans to construct a 21,332 sq. ft.
aviation hangar maintenance/fixed base operator building along its fiight line, and
WHEREAS, Avian Aeronautics, Inc. an existing aviation business, would occupy a portion
of the building providing much-needed services on Bremerton National Airport, and
WHEREAS, the Port of Bremerton applied to CERB for a low interest, deferred payment
loan of $432,000 to finance the hangar project, and
WHEREAS, completion of this building would allow the airport's principal aviation
commercial business to grow and prosper, thus drawing increased private commercial development to
Bremerton National Airport, now therefore,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD DOES HEREBY RESOLVE THAT:
The CERB Board give maximum consideration to the Port of Bremerton's
request for financial assistance in support of the aviation maintenance
hangar project, thus bringing more job opportunities to the South Kitsap
County region.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, SIGNED by the Mayor and
attested by the Clerk in authentication of such passage this 11th d,ay of M:'?n-"2002.
