WEATHERILL, MAYOR Patricia Parks, City Clerk i,ve·nt< of September II th and the deaths of our inrtoc•erit citizens ha> America and have taken us upon a long and arduous path. It saddens me to think the conflicts that inevitably lie before our society as we face this threat to our national security. I am confident of our resolve and our detennination and know that this too we shall overcome. As an elected official, a family man, and a life time resident of Port Orchard, I am extraordinarily proud of the men and women in uniform. I am particularly proud to know that our friends and neighbors serve upon the USS Sacramento and are there when we call upon them. To serve in the armed forces requires dedication, courage, and self- sacrifice. At anytime, the officers and crew must put duty before everything else and face challenges that we, as a nation, cannot afford you to lose. The men and women of the USS Sacramento have served our nation in the finest tradition of the US Navy. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
