A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON
APPROVING INSTALLATION OF A SIGN ON THE PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY -
LOCATED AT 2497 BETHEL AVENUE. (Debbie Waldron and Darlene Piper,
owners)
WHEREAS, Debbie Waldron and Darlene Piper, owners of building and sign, have
submitted an application to install a commercial/monument sign for property located at 2497 Bethel Avenue;
and
WHEREAS, Debbie Waldron and Darlene Piper, owners, conveyed that their objective of
seeking authorization to place this sign at the requested location is to alleviate traffic congestion and safety
concerns; and
WHEREAS, based on the testimony and materials presented the City Council does hereby
conclude that installation of the sign design and placement as presented would not be detrimental to the
health, safety, morals and general welfare of the community; and it is in the best interest of the community to
allow installation of the sign as requested by Debbie Waldron and Darlene Piper, owners, now, therefore,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON, HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
That the Council of the City of Port Orchard, Washington does hereby authorize installation
of a Commercial/Monument sign (Exhibit "fl<') for property located at 2497 Bethel Avenue as requested by
Debbie Waldron and Darlene Piper, owners, with the following conditions:
(1) The sign shall be constructed as a monument sign, not to exceed 12 feet in height,
and 90 sq. feet in sign face area.
(2) The sign shall not adversely affect motorist's sight distance.
(3) The sign shall be removed at the owner's expense when future road improvements
or other city improvements require it.
(4) The owner shall provide a Certificate of Insurance listing the city as an additional
insured for any accidents or claims involving the sign. The insurance coverage
shall be at least coverage for $500,000 Bodily Injury and $500,000 Property
Damage or $1,000,000 Combined Bodily Injury and Property Damage.
