A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT
ORCHARD SUPPORTING THE CONFERENCE CENTER AND INN AT
McCORMICK WOODS
WHEREAS, the Public Facilities District has a unique opportunity to acquire State
funding for a conference center; and
WHEREAS, McCormick Land Company has designed and received land use approval
from Kitsap County to construct the Conference Center and Inn at McCormick Woods, which is a 200
room hotel and convention center complimented by the McCormick Woods Golf Course; and
WHEREAS, the Conference Center and Inn at McCormick Woods will provide 120 family
wage jobs and will greatly enhance tourism;
WHEREAS, the Conference Center and Inn at McCormick Woods is "ready to go", can
be supported by existing infrastructure, and is economically viable; now, therefore
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD DOES HEREBE RESOLVES
AS FOLLOWS:
The City of Port Orchard strongly supports the Conference Center and Inn at McCormick
Woods. If the Bremerton Conference Center cannot be funded, the City of Port Orchard urges the Public
Facility District to provide its full support to the Conference Center and Inn at McCormick Woods
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, SIGNED by the Mayor and
attested by the Clerk in authentication of such passage this 23'd day of July 001.
