A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON
SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF A PUBLIC FACILITIES
DISTRICT WITHIN KITSAP COUNTY.
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard acknowledges the existing community facilities will not
meet the public's demand for space; and
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard acknowledges the need for additional sports,
convention, entertainment, recreational and other community facilities; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Kitsap County Commissioners have established a Kitsap
Community Facilities Committee to investigate and report to the Commissioners regarding the need for
community facilities within Kitsap County, the types of facilities needed, what existing facilities may be
available, and the potential sources and mechanisms for funding additional community facilities; and
WHEREAS, the Board of Kitsap County Commissioners has requested the City of Port
Orchard's endorsement on the proposed public facilities project, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, AS
FOLLOWS:
THAT: the City of Port Orchard does endorse the concept of development of a Public
Facilities District Board.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, APPROVED by the Mayor and
attested by the Clerk in authentication of such passage this 8th day of Nov ber 1999.
