A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON, CREATING THREE FIRE LIEUTENANT POSITIONS
WITHIN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND PROVIDING FOR THE
SALARY THEREOF.
WHEREAS, the Fire Chief has recommended establishing a Lieutenant
position for each duty shift within the Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Guide of Washington Survey and Rating requires
a duty officer be on duty for each shift; and
WHEREAS, the International Association of Firefighters Local #2819
supports creation of Lieutenant positions and agrees to negotiation of items
which are subject to bargaining.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Council of the City of Port
Orchard, Washington does hereby establish three Fire Lieutenant positions
within the Port Orchard Fire Department and further authorizes the Port
Orchard Civil Service Commission to establish a job description and adopt
appropriate rules, regulations and requirements for the position of Fire
Department Lieutenant within the City of Port Orchard Civil Service Rules and
Regulations.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard, APPROVED
by the Mayor and attested by the Clerk in authentication of such passage this
10th day of February, 1997.
