A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON SUPPORTING THE CITY TREASURER'S
PARTICIPATION IN THE MUNICIPAL TREASURER'S
ASSOCIATION, UNITED STATES & CANADA.
WHEREAS, The City Treasurer is the City's Finance Director who has fiduciary
responsibility for the finances of the City of Port Orchard; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Kristine L. Tompkins has been a trusted and valued employee
of the City for 25 years and has served as the City Treasurer for 16 years; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Tompkins has actively participated and been a leader in the
Municipal Treasurer's Association, United States & Canada (MTA, US&C) and is now being
considered for President -Elect of the Association; and
WHEREAS, the MTA, US&C is an influential professional organization of the
municipal finance officers;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE:
Participation in professional organizations benefits both the employee and
the City of Port Orchard by honing professional skills.
2. The City of Port Orchard supports and encourages Ms. Tompkins
assumption of her leadership responsibilities in the MTA US&C.
3. The City of Port Orchard will continue to support and assist her with the
MTA US&C responsibilities.
