A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON,
SUPPORTING A NEW EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM IMPLEMENTED BY
SIDNEY GLEN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.
WHEREAS, the City of Port Orchard recognizes the important role a
good, quality education has in enhancing the quality of life of its citizens.
WHEREAS, the Sidney Glen Elementary School Administration has
implemented a new educational program titled "A Micro Society".
WHEREAS, this educational program is designed to simulate real -
life interaction with public agencies and private businesses.
WHEREAS, this program will introduce students to: (1) Basic core
learning, (2) Economy - banking systems; (3) Humanity - arts, drama, music,
(4) Technology - publishing, research, on-line services and (5) Citizenry -
courts and legislation; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PORT ORCHARD, WASHINGTON,
THAT: The City of Port Orchard does hereby support and
congratulate Sidney Glen Elementary School for implementing this educational
program titled "A Micro Society". The City recognizes the importance of this
program and the positive impact it will have toward developing responsible
citizens.
