A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD,
WASHINGTON ADOPTING THE FINAL AMENDMENT
TO THE 1990 FINAL COMPREHENSIVE SOLID
WASTE MANAGEMENT PLAN.
WHEREAS, The City of Port Orchard has joined the other
three cities and Kitsap County to manage solid waste on a combined
regional basis; and
WHEREAS, a representative of the City of Port Orchard
actively participated in the amendment process and as a member and
Chairman of the Solid Waste Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, urban areas require universal garbage collection;
and
WHEREAS, the community must actively managq the solid
waste programs in the county in order to maintain its quality of
life;
THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PORT ORCHARD
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE:
The level One areas in the unincorporated areas of Kitsap
County need universal collection without further delay;
and
The City adopts the Final Amendment to the 1990 Final
Comprehensive Solid Waste Management Plan. The Plan shall
be used as a guidance for the future City decisions
regarding solid waste management.
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Port Orchard,
APPROVED by the Mayor and attested by the Clerk in authentication
of such passage this 12th day of Octobe 1992.
